The Portuguese player defeated the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili
Henrique Rocha has managed to win the trophy of the fifth edition of the Challenger Costa Calida Region of Murcia after beating the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili in a very close match that ended with the victory of the Portuguese by 3-6, 7-6, 7-5.
After the match, the prize-giving ceremony was held, attended by the Director General of Sports, Francisco Javier Sánchez; the Murcia City Councillor for Sports, Miguel Ángel Noguera; the President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Díaz Román, and the President of the Real Murcia Club de Tenis 1919, Antonio Saura.
The tennis player, who with this victory achieves the first Challenger trophy of his career, wanted to thank the organization for the treatment received and has highlighted the good atmosphere throughout the week in the stands, ‘which have been full since Monday,’ he said.
A unique edition
With this match our club puts an end to the V Challenger Costa Calida Region of Murcia. This edition has been, as indicated by the president of the RCMT 1919, Antonio Saura, ‘the best of all those held so far, both in terms of attendance and the level of tennis we have seen on the court’.
